Discover who we are
Pastor Eric and Lisa planted Hope Baptist Church in Rossington, South Yorkshire in 2003. They are thankful for everything the Lord has done and will continue to do, as the church grows and develops.
Our church has always been described as warm and welcoming. We are thankful for that reputation. You too, will find a warm welcome here at Hope Baptist Church.
Rossington’s roots are steeped in the South Yorkshire mining industry. However, new and extensive building programmes, together with the opening of the Great Yorkshire Way to connect it to the M18, means that the village is now growing and becoming more diverse.
Rossington is now more accessible than it ever has been.

Eric Simpson
Pastor
Eric is an American, proud to be living South Yorkshire. He accepted Christ in 1984 and God changed the trajectory of his life. He worked as an electronics engineer in the defence industry before being called into vocational ministry. He served as a Pastor to the deaf for several years before coming to England with his wife Lisa in 2003. He enjoys the outdoors, DIY and a rousing card game!

Discover our Events
As a growing church, we offer a range of opportunities for people to be part of the church family, as they deepen relationships through fellowship and put their individual gifts to good use.
Annual Retreat
Part of our annual church programme is offering people a chance to get away, even for a short time. The theme of our 2024 residential retreat was ‘Our Identity in Christ’. People thoroughly enjoyed the teaching and worship, grew to know each other better and enjoyed the spiritual AND physical food on offer!’
Christmas Carol Service
Our main worship team has had significant experience in putting together a community choir. The first attempt at doing this in Hope Baptist Church was hugely enjoyable, both for those who were part of the choir and for those who attended our special Christmas Carol Service.

Christ in the Passover
We aim to offer unique experiences to help our church to grow in love and understanding of the Lord. One such example is our Christ in the Passover event. We had a Christian expression of the Passover celebration to illustrate the Bible as a unified whole.

We look for every opportunity to share the gospel with people in our community. Only the good news of Jesus Christ can offer real change. It is God’s job to convict and save. It is our job to tell.
